Honored Citizens of Graz

According to the city’s statute, persons who have performed exemplary service to the city, the province or the country can be named honored citizens of Graz. In a celebratory nomination, the individuals are awarded a certificate of honored citizenship by the mayor. Every honored citizen is portrayed by a local artist. Presently, the collection of these portraits decorates the Baumkirchner Room in the city hall.
