Food and Drink

If it is true that the way to a man's (or woman’s) heart is through their stomach, then you are sure to fall in love with Graz in no time. If you have a sweet tooth then you might like to indulge in a slice of Erzherzog Johann Torte and then buy a few of Strehly’s legendary Schlossbergkugeln to take home with you. You will find pastry and candy shops on just about every street corner. But Graz is not just a heaven for sweet-lovers. Local cooks and caterers offer a myriad of culinary delights, whether traditional Styrian cuisine, Mediterranean fare or something a little more exotic.
Some of the most beautiful spots for a tasty tete a tete are to be found in one of the many outdoor restaurants in the historic old town. This is also an enjoyable experience if you prefer to dine alone, to read a newspaper or to have a chat with the local sitting at the table next to you.
