Coventry

The friendship between Graz and Coventry goes back to the times after WW II. Three years after the end of World War II, Graz was under occupation of British troops and was seat of the allied provincial government. In 1948, a delegation from Graz was invited to the central English city Coventry. This invitation laid the foundations for the town twinning, which, in 1957, two years after the end of British occupation, was officially formalised in the twinning agreement.
