Libraries and the Mediathek

The City of Graz offers delights for bookworms big and small. There is the main City of Graz public library (German) and six branch libraries located across the city, along with a bookmobile which travels to 21 destinations. Together they hold 128,000 volumes, 3,600 audio books, and over 500 periodicals.

For those who prefer new media, there is the Mediathek (German). It contains a huge selection of videos, DVDs, DVD-Roms, CDs, CD-Roms and periodicals. The Mediathek is situated at Vorbeckgasse 12 and is open for you to stop by for a coffee, to listen to music, to watch films, to use one of eleven Internet terminals, and of course to check out the media of your choice.
